Garth Puller’s handsome chestnut son of Miesque’s Approval followed after his win on 1 November with a second place in the KZN Guineas Trial Listed behind Sir David Baird.

Owned in partnership by Richard Fitzgerald, along with Mr U Pillay and trainer Garth Puller, Ryker sold for just R50 000 at the 2016 KZN Yearling Sale for breeders St Helier Stud. Ryker has now won and placed twice from five starts, only out of the money on one occasion.

Atso’s daughter Movie Show has been impressiving, the five year old mare placing third in the Gardenia Listed recently. Out of Picture Show by Saphieha, Movie Show is a five time winner and has also placed in the Bauhinia Listed previously.

Congratulations to her trainer Paul Peter who is having incredible success with Scott Bros produce, brining in the winners weekly.

Picture Show has produced seven winners from nine foals to date. This is the female line of Patella and Royal Champ.

The Scott Bros are currently seventh on the National Breeders Log by stakes earned, and our young stallions, Crusade and Eightfold Path, are off to a fantastic start this racing season.

Eightfold Path has impressed with six winners for the season (from small numbers in his first foal crop), producing a winners to runners percentage of 33.3% and average earnings of R28 301 each.

The second of Gold Circle’s Barrier Trails took place on Saturday and saw our home-bred full brother to Gr1 Champions Cup winner, Orbison, fly past the multiple placed Redoute’s Choice filly Khetiwe to finish first in his inaugural visit to Greyville. The Mogok juvenile colt named The Bayou is in training with Paul Lafferty and looks to be a bright future prospect indeed.

Our foaling season has come to an end with Ramp Vamp completing it with a lovely filly foal by Mogok, a full sister to 4-time winner, Runalong.

Congratulations to all concerned above.
