Brigtnumberten had his third career victory at the Vaal for his owners Hartley SA (Pty) Ltd (Nom: Mr P B Gibson) and trainer Roy Magner. The three year old son of Eightfold Path has now won three and placed four times from 10 runs – his last seven starts yet to be out of the money. Merit Rated at 84, he has earned over R200 000 in stakes.

Pin Up Fold followed on the day to place third in a fantastic run for the stable of Lucky Houdalakis, whilst previous winner Esploratore had a fourth. Pin Up Fold will be looking for a win soon, after placing twice from four starts – her half-sister Biker Babe recently won second time out at Scottsville.

Eightfold Path has produced eight wins this season from small numbers.

Dubai multiple winner Alareef, who contests his first race back for the 2018 Dubai season, has an Eightfold Path foal half-sibling at Spring Valley this season – the dam from the immediate family of Urban Sea that produced Galileo, Sea The Stars and Black Sam Bellamy.
