The Highdown Stud of the Scott Brothers Des, Neville and Robin was founded in 1967 in KwaZulu Natal.
With the dream of creating a high class thoroughbred stud, they conducted a thorough study of the most successful stud farms around the world, collecting all the best and most practical design elements and bringing them back to South Africa.
Within 4 years of the farm’s inception, Scott Bros had cemented their place in the South African breeding ranks by finishing 2nd on the National Breeders’ Log, a position they have occupied 5 times in total as well always ranking in the country’s Top 10 each season.
Situated in the Natal Highlands approximately 12 miles from the town of Nottingham Road. It is within easy reach of Durban.
The farm is 1000 acres (400 ha) in extent of which 750 acres is arable pasture.
