Atso has been on form in January, bringing home four winners in the last three weeks as well as 12 places.

They include Lockheed Star, Cannes, The Berry Lady and yesterday’s Vaal winner for the Lucky Houdalakis stable, On The Nod.

Lockheed Star was a R3000 graduate off the Scott Bros Farm Sale held at Shongweni Club in February last year. The well bred filly, out of an Australian mare by Fasliyev, won second time out at Scottsville for Julie Dittmer by almost two lengths.

The ultra-consistent Cannes was next to win, the four year old gelding getting up to get his fourth win and placing 13 times. He followed this recent win up with a very good second yesterday at the Vaal, finishing behind Oasis Dream colt Extreme Dubai(AUS). Cannes has an outstanding athletic Crusade yearling half-brother currently in sales preparation for the April TBA National Yearling Sale.

The Berry Lady, out of Wolfhound mare Mulberry, had her second win for trainer CJ Lensley at Flamingo Park over 1200m, ridden by recent J&B Met winning jockey JP Van Der Merwe. The filly has won and placed three times before at the Vaal and Turffontein.

Finally, On The Nod won a brilliant race by a head from Kahal gelding Sir Cecil at the Vaal over 1200m, ridden by S’Manga Khumalo. Out of a Jallad mare, On The Nod collected his third win for the stable and has placed 10 times over 1200m – 1400m.

The Scott Bros currently have three Atso’s for sale directly off the farm – two year olds ready to go into training.
